A tree job is mostly judgement, then a bit of chainsaw.

Anyone can start a saw. The part that matters is working out what has to come out, what can be pruned and kept, and how to get a heavy limb on the ground without it going through a roof or a fence on the way.

That is why every job here starts with a walk around it. You get told what is coming down, what is staying, what it will cost, and what the place will look like afterwards. Then the work happens, and the site gets raked off before anyone drives away.

Days a week

A climber up a tree tight against a weatherboard house while a groundsman feeds the chipper parked in the drive

Two on the job: one in the tree, one on the ground working the chipper. It is how the awkward ones get done without anything landing where it should not.

What we get called out for

Everything below is work we actually do. If your job is not on the list, ring and ask. It is a short conversation either way.

Tree removal

Whole trees taken down safely, from a dead gum in a back paddock to something that has outgrown the spot it was planted in.

Climbing and sectional dismantling

Where there is no room to drop a tree in one piece, it comes down in sections on ropes. Roped, rigged and lowered, not felled and hoped for.

Pruning and shaping

Crown work on established trees, done with an eye on what the tree will look like in five years rather than just what needs cutting today.

Work close to houses and services

Trees tight against a roofline, over a driveway or under the powerlines. The awkward ones that need rigging rather than room.

Chipping and clean up

The chipper comes with us. When the job is finished the site is raked off and left tidy, not covered in a fortnight of your own work.

Quotes and a plan first

A walk around the job before anything starts, so you know what is coming down, what is staying, and what it costs.

The bloke with the saw

Brendan has been in the tree game a long while.

Bees Trees Service is Brendan, a qualified arborist based at Meeniyan, and the crew he brings along when a job needs more than one pair of hands. He has spent over a decade in the trade, and it shows in the way the work gets planned before the saw ever comes out of the ute.

He is also genuinely fond of the things he is paid to cut down. He has written that it is always sad to take out a dead tree, because a dead tree is home to a lot of small creatures. It is not a line he put on an advert, it is just how he talks about the job. Customers pick up on it too: one of his reviews is mostly about a manna gum he pruned and the koala that stayed put in it while he worked.

Not every job has a driveway

Some of it gets carried in on foot.

Down this end of Gippsland a fair bit of the work is nowhere near a road. Saws, fuel, rigging gear and lunch all go in on your back, and everything that comes out comes out the same way.

Fantastic, incredible, efficient, going above and beyond. That's Brendan and his team, arrived on time, had a walk around the job discussing the plan so everyone understood not only what we wanted but for Brendan's suggestions as well. Nothing was a problem and Brendan's friendly disposition made him a pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend Brendan and his team for there work was faultless. Thanks Guys!

Brendan was a pleasure to deal with. He is very knowledgeable and responded promptly every time we sent an enquiry. Rates were reasonable for the services quoted and the work was of a high standard and the area was left neat and tidy once the job was done. I would have no hesitation in using his services again and would thoroughly recommend him.

So prompt with communication and the job! Takes great initiative and puts a lot of effort into pleasing clients. Have a great valued quote, completed additional tasks and took photos of the finished job. Very professional and has insurance for Bee's Trees Service. Highly recommend!

Very happy with Brendan's service from start to finish! Friendly, easy going, but more importantly a professional job done well! Good communication, on time and he got the tree down safely and efficiently!

Brendan knows a lot about trees! It's obvious that he loves what he does. He did a great job pruning and shaping my manna gum (and the resident koala didn't seem to mind that much). Would highly recommend.

When we leave

The site gets raked off. Every time.

Chipped, stacked, swept. You should not be finishing our job for us on the weekend.

Got a tree you are not sure about?

Ring Brendan and describe it, or send through a photo. If it is worth a look he will come out, walk the job with you and put a number on it before anything starts.
